Beck named top Overall Apprentice

(Mayfield, Ky.) August 20, 2015 – Western Kentucky Rural Electric continued its winning ways at the 2015 Kentucky Lineman's Rodeo with Apprentice Lineman Geoffrey Beck, Mayfield, taking home top honors in the Overall Apprentice Lineman category. Also representing WKRECC were Apprentice Lineman Zach Underhill, Hazel, and Lineman Kevin England, Mayfield. The team was coached by veteran Lineman Ryan Morton, Benton.

West Kentucky Rural Electric hosts Member Appreciation Days

West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative is hosting Member Appreciation Days at its three business offices to celebrate National Cooperative Month. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there will be door prize drawings and giveaways for kids. Members are encouraged to stop by for food, fun and fellowship.

Member Day events will be held on the following dates and locations:

New Account Numbers

West kentucky Rural Electric has a new billing system that is more secure, more reliable and will enhance the services we can offer our members.

Your bill looks much the same, with one exception — your WKRECC account number is new! Please make note of the new number printed on your bill and use it for all future co-op business. Your account history and membership information are all the same, only the account number has changed.

If you pay your bill online through the WKRECC website, you will need to type in your new account number the next time you make a payment. Questions? Call us at 1-877-495-7322.

If you use your bank's online bill pay service, you will need to update the WKRECC biller information with your new account number. Log on to your bank's online bill pay service and find the section where you list the name, address and account numbers of the businesses you wish to pay. Edit the WKRECC entry to delete the old account number and enter the new one prior to paying your bill.

West Kentucky RECC celebrates National Lineman Appreciation Day

April 1, 2015 – On April 13, 2015, West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative will celebrate National Lineman Appreciation Day, recognizing the hard working linemen who often face challenging conditions as they work to keep the lights on across rural America.

"Electric linemen are a special breed of people," said David Smart, WKRECC President & CEO. "They work all hours of the day, often in hazardous conditions, going above and beyond to restore power to their friends and neighbors and our communities. Our linemen, and others across the country, truly deserve this special day of recognition."

Avoid wires and water — When lightning strikes a home during a storm, the electrical charge can surge through pipes and utility wires. That means you can get zapped if you're touching water or any device that's plugged in, whether it's a landline phone or toaster.
