West Kentucky RECC currently allows solar installations via TVA’s Green Power Providers program. However, we want to gauge our members’ interest in other solar options.
Community solar projects are one such option. This would involve building a large solar array at a central location. Participants would pay an upfront cost to purchase one or more solar panels and receive a monthly energy credit equal to the output from the panel(s).
It typically takes 12-15 years to recover the initial community solar panel investment.
Another option involves installing solar panels on your home/property that are connected to your side of the electric meter. Recovering your initial investment can take 15-20 years, depending on specific costs and energy prices.
Every member who completes a survey by Feb. 28 will be entered to win one of two $100 WKRECC bill credits.
