Pumpkins in the Park Returns to Its Roots for Another Successful Year

The 6th Annual Pumpkins in the Park, hosted by West Kentucky RECC and Cornerstone Connectivity (formerly WK&T), was a tremendous success! Held Saturday, October 24, at the WK&T Tech Park campus, the event returned to the location where it all began six years ago. The move provided additional space for vendors, accommodated the growing number of attendees, and created opportunities for future expansion.

An estimated 1,000 families attended this year’s event, highlighting just how much Pumpkins in the Park has grown over the past three years. What began as an idea to bring two local cooperatives together has become a much-anticipated community tradition.

From the beginning, the goal of Pumpkins in the Park has been simple: to create a family-friendly event where people of all ages can enjoy a day of fun at little to no cost. WKRECC and Cornerstone Connectivity wanted to show appreciation for their members while bringing the community together for an afternoon filled with activities, giveaways, and lasting memories.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing the excitement and smiles on the faces of children and families. The turnout and enthusiasm reflected the heart of the event—providing an opportunity for families to make memories and enjoy time together without the added expense.

The event’s success would not have been possible without the generous support of community partners who contributed gifts, goodies, and other items at no cost to attendees. Their willingness to give helped make the day special for families and demonstrated the strength of a community that comes together to support one another.

Jodie Hansen, Communications and Media Relations Coordinator for WKRECC, emphasized the importance of giving back to members and the communities the cooperatives serve. As member-focused organizations, WKRECC and Cornerstone Connectivity take pride in creating opportunities to connect with their members in meaningful ways. Pumpkins in the Park reflects that commitment by offering old-fashioned games, giveaways, and family-oriented entertainment in a welcoming, expense-free environment.

On behalf of West Kentucky RECC and Cornerstone Connectivity, we’re proud to bring this event to the community and want to thank our members for showing up and sharing a day of fun, laughter, and excitement. Pumpkins in the Park continues to grow while staying true to its original purpose: bringing people together, showing appreciation for our members, and making a positive difference in the communities we call home.
